www.cultgaia.comCult Gaia is a brand that doesn't really need an introduction. Known for pieces that sit somewhere between fashion and art, they've built a following around products that are instantly recognisable. For this project, we partnered with ToyFight, bringing together their design and creative expertise with our Shopify Plus development knowledge. The goal was a store that felt as curated and considered as the product itself.

Cult Gaia's products are high fashion, highly visual, and very curated. The store needed to present them in a way that felt elevated without getting in the way of actually shopping. That's a difficult balance, especially on Shopify Plus, where achieving truly bespoke design requires deep platform knowledge. The build also had to work seamlessly across markets, handle a large and varied catalogue, and perform well on every device. ToyFight brought a design vision that was ambitious, and we needed to make sure the Shopify implementation did it justice.

We worked closely with ToyFight throughout the build, translating their design and front-end work into a fully functional Shopify Plus theme. It was a genuine collaboration. ToyFight brought the creative direction, the visual language, and their own code expertise, and we brought the Shopify Plus knowledge to make it all work within the platform's architecture.
The result is a store that feels minimal and refined but has a lot going on under the surface. Product pages are designed to let the imagery lead, with clean layouts and considered typography that matches the brand's aesthetic. The catalogue handles a wide range of product types without ever feeling cluttered. Cross-border commerce, payment flexibility, and personalisation features are all baked in, but none of it gets in the way of the experience.

The finished store feels like Cult Gaia. That sounds simple, but for a brand with this much visual identity, it's the thing that matters most. The partnership with ToyFight meant the design quality never had to be compromised for technical reasons, and the Shopify implementation means Cult Gaia's team can manage and update the store without needing to go back to a developer for every change. It's a build that respects both the brand and the platform, and it shows.
